About the Author

Dana Edwards is an undergraduate student studying journalism and history at the University of Florida.  After participating in National History Day throughout her middle and high school years, she discovered her passion for history.  She has experience as a contributing writer for the Tallahassee Democrat in Tallahassee, Fla. as well as with the former Florida Catholic newspaper.  In her middle and high school years, she served as editor-in-chief of the school yearbook and newspaper in addition to winning awards at yearbook workshops. As a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society, she hopes to incorporate history with her writing, online media and design skills for a future career.  Her goal for this blog is to share her experiences as she goes through the journeys of becoming a journalist. Through this process she hopes you will learn valuable information as she gains insight into how the inner workings of our social society are formed.
